Cookie Tour Route Changes

2009 Tour Series

The Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast Association is proud to announce that the beneficiary of the 2009 Holiday Cookie Tour is the Friends of the Library, a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of our local library through fundraising, volunteer staffing, advocating and running programs for children, young adults and adults for the betterment of the community.  Your ticket purchase to this fun-filled and tasty event will support the efforts of this fine community group. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of our Association's cookbook Cooking With the Inns of Amelia will be donated, as well.

November is the month to get inspired for your holiday baking, and Amelia’s bed and breakfasts are up to the task.   Saturday, November 21, is the date for this year’s Holiday Cookie Tour, when all five inns and the library will be open for touring from 1-5pm. Sample a signature cookie from each of the five inns while collecting recipes along the way.  You’ll come away with ideas for heirloom cookies to add to your family’s traditions, as well as inspiration for holiday decorating.   Amelia Island's bed and breakfasts are housed in the area's most breath-taking and historically significant structures.  Don't miss this opportunity to tour them all dressed up for the holidays.

This self-guided, self-paced tour allows you to start at any inn - or the library - and make your way through at your own pace.  Docents will be available at each inn to help you to appreciate the stories of these island beauties.  Tour tickets for all ages are $20 and are limited and nonrefundable.  You may purchase your ticket at any one of the six inns, the downtown Visitors' Center, the Chamber of Commerce Gateway Office, the Fernandina Beach Public Library or here online.  Many inns will be offering packages for our out of town visitors who would like to come for the weekend and enjoy more of the island's bounty.  Contact your favorite inn for more information and for reservations.  Bring your friends!

Just in:  With the help of Amelia Island Carriages, we've added an opportunity to take a ride on a horse-drawn carriage between the library and the Addison on Amelia.  Narration by your carriage driver will be provided along the way.  Carriages will depart from either location at regular intervals throughout the hours of the tour.  In order to accommodate all those who wish to have an opportunity to ride, we ask that you limit your participation to one ride in your choice of direction.

11/20- Tickets may no longer be purchased online.  There will be a limited number of tickets at the door.  Elizabeth Pointe Lodge and the Visitors' Center will have the most tickets.  If you have ordered tickets for will-call, you may pick up your tickets at the library at 24 N Fourth Street.  You must bring the credit card with which you purchased the tickets for identification purposes.

Have fun!
